Chicago, July 10 2007: Josh Bovey, Jeremy Graff, Stanley Scieczkovski, Dustin Strasser, and Jon Welser are the winners of the Swiss Goverment's apprenticeship prize and will be invited to visit Switzerland from September 22 - October 1, 2007. The five young Americans will meet with fellow Swiss apprentice, tour the country and visit with some of the leading companies including +GF Agie Charmilles, Mikron Technology SA, REGO-FIX AG, Studer AG, Tornos SA, and Willemin-Macodel SA.  

Chicago, May 23, 2007: Swiss cuisine is top of the notch. The Swiss National Team of Chefs won today the competition at the World Culinary Championship in Chicago. The Swiss Business Hub USA’s support of the Swiss chefs was an opportunity to highlight the exceptional quality of Swiss kitchen and food to the benefit of the Swiss food and tourism industries. Swiss Business Hub invited key 40 opinion-makers from the food industry, hotel, restaurant, and the service sector. The event was a full success. In its news bulletin Swiss National Television made a broadcast of the event including interviews.

Geneva March 22, 2007: Swiss Business Women’s International Trade Conference and Networking Reception was held at Banque Cantonale de Geneve, in Conches, Switzerland.  The half-day conference encouraged participants to explore new opportunities, business strategies, and tools for entering the American market by learning from senior Swiss and American women business executives. Over 85 attendees seeking new opportunities for growth and expansion in the United States participated in the conference which offered excellent networking opportunities. Sponsors included the Banque Cantonale de Geneve and in partnership with the Swiss American Council of Women, Femme Entrepreneur, and the Geneva Chamber of Commerce.

Biotechnology

Chicago, April 9 - 12, 2006 The Swiss Pavillon at BIO 2006 in Chicago showcased 16 companies from Switzerland in the biotech space, including such well known names as Novartis, Helsinn, Debiopharm and Xigen. Companies exhibited products and services ranging from biopharmaceuticals, biomaterials, and therapeutics, to software and venture capital. Many opportunities for company leaders to meet potential partners were offered. At the conference, Swiss Business Hub USA made a presentation in the marketing track entitled "The US Market for Biotechnology - Opportunities and Challenges for Foreign Companies", based on its latest report aimed at Swiss companies, to a packed room of approximately 100 people. An evening reception at the Kingston Mines, Chicago's foremost Blues Club attracted over 250 guests.

Anaheim February 19, 2007: Over 5,000 company representatives visited eleven of the most renowned Swiss suppliers of precision state-of-the-art machines, tools and components at the 2nd SwissMedtech Pavilion at MD&M West. "I was able to actively continue contacts already initiated earlier and develop new leads to be pursued by our newly established US office", said Swiss Tec AG's Eduard Fassbind. Anaheim, February 13 - 15, 2006 Since high-tech subcontracting generates a significant portion of Swiss export earnings, a Swiss Pavilion under the trade mark of Swiss Medtech was inaugurated by the Swiss Business Hub USA at the Medical Design & Manufacturing Show (MD&M) West 2006 with eight exhibitors. The Swiss Pavilion was a showcase in every respect and attracted many visitors. It provided both well established and new companies to the U.S. market with opportunities to showcase their capabilities in high precision contract manufacturing to U.S. medical device OEM's.

Nanotechnology

Boston, May 8 - 11, 2006 A delegation of 11 exhibitors-- nanotechnology companies and economic developers from Switzerland-- showed their products and services at the Swiss Pavilion at NSTI Nanotech 2006 Conference and Expo in Boston. For the fifth year in a row, the Swiss Nanotech Pavilion was one of the largest and best placed exhibits, reinforcing the branding and image promotion of Switzerland as a leading nanotechnology community. Swiss speakers participated as speakers in the conference sessions, which made the event even more successful.

Anaheim, CA May 8 - 12th, 2005 Nanotech Tradeshow. Swiss Nanotechnology was at the forefront at the Anaheim Nanotech Tradeshow. The Swiss Nanotech Pavilion had eight Swiss Exhibitors. They were impressed by the amount and quality of contacts obtained at the show.
